Strategies Delivered At Aerospace Council
The Department of Bargaining Strategies presented an informative session for the Aerospace Sub Council this week. During the session, they focused on innovative negotiation techniques tailored specifically for the aerospace sector. The team highlighted key strategies that can enhance collaboration and drive successful outcomes with our membership in negotiations- including refusing blackout bargaining, engaging members around deeply felt issues, and identifying the peak of strength when the members have the most leverage. The group reviewed and presented the Daimler case studies to the council that demonstrated the effectiveness of these approaches, showcasing how they have led to mutually beneficial UAW agreements in previous negotiations.
The feedback from the council members was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing interest in implementing these strategies. We also engaged in a lively Q&A session, which underscored the importance of adaptive bargaining in our rapidly evolving industry.
Overall, the presentation was a great success, and it reinforced the mutual commitment between the department of bargaining strategies and UAW Region 8 and the aerospace community through effective negotiation practices. When we fight, we win! |
